Lite Plus Max Shop



Products can have variants, such as different sizes and colours. In the shop you set up all of the variants used across your products, and then enable specific variants on individual products. You can manage variants by clicking Variants in the shop admin panel menu.


Terminology

A variant group is an attribute of a product that can be changed — for example, colour.


A variant is a particular value in a variant group — for example, green and blue could be variants in the colour variant group.


There are two types of variant group. The list type lets the customer select from a list of variants. The text field type lets the customer type in their own value — for example, for personalisation or gift messages.


The variant group list

After clicking Variants, the variant group list is displayed:



You can rearrange the order in which variant groups are shown by clicking on the arrows at the left of the rows and dragging the rows up and down. Click Save to save the order of the variant groups.


To edit the variants within a group, click Edit on the appropriate row. To delete a variant group, click Delete on the appropriate row. To create a variant group, enter a name and choose the type in the form above the variant group list and click Create.


Editing a variant group

After clicking Edit on a variant group row, the variant group page for that group is displayed.


For a variant group of type list, you can change the following settings:


Group name

The variant group name.


Display as

Set to Drop-down list for the variants to be shown as a drop-down list. Set to Radio buttons for the variants to be shown as radio buttons. Set to Colours for the variants to be shown as colours. The three display options look like this:



For a variant group of type text field, you can change the following settings:


Group name

The variant group name.


Display as

Whether to show a single line text field or a multiple line text field.


Minimum length

The minimum number of characters that the customer can enter. If set to 0, the customer may leave the text field blank.


Maximum length

The maximum number of characters that the customer can enter.


The variant list

For a variant group of type list, the list of variants within the group is displayed below the group details:



You can rearrange the order in which variants are shown by clicking on the arrows at the left of the rows and dragging the rows up and down. Click Save Order to save the order of the variants.


To create a variant, enter a name in the field above the variant list and click Create. To update a variant, click on the colour to choose a colour (if the group is set to display as colours) or enter a new name in the field on the appropriate row and click Update. To delete a variant, click Delete on the appropriate row.
