POP3 email account's differ form web-mail accounts in 2 main ways. The first one is that you need to have your email account set up in a program known as an email client rather than going to a website. The second is that POP3 accounts mean that the email is stored on your computer where you have control over it rather than being kept on an email server in the cloud.
